The Cliff...

After they payed, Marilyn went ahead to the car, unable to look at Derek in the face, she was scared, and Derek's feelings towards everything were still unclear.

Derek pulls out of the lot and stars back towards the house. He feels unsure as to what he is going to do if it ends up where Marilyn is pregnant. He knows he can't be angry or upset at Marilyn. He just feels angry at himself. He decides to make the best of a potentially bad situation.

Derek turns off the engine after pulling into the drive-way. After a long moment passes, he reaches over and takes Marilyn's hand in his.

Marilyn had a huge ball in her throat the entire ride home. She was trying desperately to try and stay calm but the moment Derek took her hand, she couldn't hold it in any longer.
She burst out crying, "I'm so scared!"

Derek gently squeezed her hand a little tighter. He bites his lower lip a moment.

"So am I."

"I'm so sorry, Derek..." She said as she used her sleeve to wipe her face.

"You have nothing to be sorry about. It's my fault..."

Marilyn shakes her head, "It's not you fault..."

She sighs, "We should probably check and make sure before we start worrying about what we're gonna do..."

"Yeah."

Derek opens his door and gets out, locking and closing when Marilyn opens hers.

"I guess I'll be in the den while you, um, us that thing."

"Alright.."

When they got back inside, Marilyn went ahead into the bathroom. She looked down at the little pink box in her hand with the pregnancy test inside. She took a breath and did what she had to. 

She walked out of the bathroom and to the den to reconcile with Derek. She felt very awkward.

"We uh...have to wait a few minutes for a response.."

Derek nods.

"Yeah..."

After a few awkward minutes in silence, Marilyn stood up and walked back to the bathroom where she had left the test. She picked it up quickly without looking at the results, and went back to where Derek was.

When she saw Derek, she froze up.

"I don't want to look at it.."

"I know..."

Derek goes over and puts his arms around Marilyn.

"But it'll be okay, whatever the outcome. I promise."

(Jesus I'm so sorry. I forgot if she should be pregnant or not, you can decide :b Also, how've you been?)

Marilyn nods and takes a deep breath.

She looks at the pregnancy test, and didn't react, then looked up at Derek, showing him the results.

(It's okay, no worries. I think we were gonna go with it just being a scare, so I'll go with that. I'm doing pretty good, also. I'm almost done with the semester, and I'm looking forward to a few weeks off. We also have a friend of ours staying with us. He almost... attempted something that wouldn't have been good. I was actually just about to send you a message on Tumblr before I checked the site. Though if you're reading this because of the message I sent you after, then I guess that's still true. :P )

Derek reluctantly looks at the results on the test. He lets out his breath when he processes what he sees.

"It's negative."
