The Cliff...

"Hey."

New guy?

"No offense, Trevor, but the show sure is making a hell of a lot of changes early."

Trevor shrugged. "I think I'll be the last change made around here." he said confidently.

"Well...besides Marilyn's relationship status." he said with a wink, nudging Marilyn with his elbow.

Marilyn blushed slightly. She innocently looked at Derek and hoped he didn't think less of her.

Derek felt suddenly impulsed to talk, but he closed his mouth quickly and glances away.

"Well, I'm sure we've got surprises in store all the time."

At this point, Marilyn felt awkward. She was at loss of words and hadn't the slightest idea what was going through Derek's head. Her mind was contradicting itself. Even though Derek is her boyfriend, and Trevor is obvious of his intentions...a normal girl would want him to step off and she would do all she could to get him to leave her alone. But in this case, although she knew what she should do, she wouldn't because she enjoyed being around Trevor.

She was at loss of words.

Trevor nods. "Yeah, no doubt. Everyone has their secrets...so if you think about it, everyone is lying to each other. A lot of things might go wrong once between the friends you think you made in this show when it's all said and done"

Marilyn is taken back, I haven't thought of it like that...

"I think tere is a difference between lying and simply not telling someone something. It's only withholding information when they're supposed to know."

Trevor shrugs.

"Guess we'll just have to see how it turns out for everyone."

Marilyn decides to change the subject.

"So uh...Derek...how'd the challenge go?"

Derek shrugs.

"It took a little while, but I got it in the end."

"Oh. So you guys won huh?" she said alittle disappointed

"I guess so... Heh..."

Trevor was getting bored with their conversation.

"I'll let you guys talk. Marilyn, if you don't mind, meet up with me later tonight, alone, alright?" he said with a wink.

"Sure."

"See ya." With that, Trevor walked off to find something else to do.

Derek waits till Trevor was out of earshot.

"So..."

Marilyn shrugged.

"Soo..uh...what are you thinking..?"

"Trevor. His intentions towards you are obvious... aren't they?"

Derek shrugs.

"Parts of me are saying I should be jealous, but other parts are saying that since he does not know it'd be unfair on his part. No, I'm not mad."

"I guess just... just don't dig too deep, so to speak."

Marilyn rose an eyebrow

"What do you mean?"

"I mean don't lead him on knowing his intentions."

Marilyn bit her lip and looked at the ground.

Part of her knew Derek was right, and an even bigger part of her hated when someone told her what to do.

"Alright."

Derek sighs.

"Look... I know it was my idea that we keep our relationship secret. I'm starting to think that wasn't the best idea, but I don't know... I want to be with you. I don't mind if you're friends with anyone, even Trevor, though...

"So then there's nothin to worry about...right?" she said with a shrug.

"Yeah... sure."

Hearing the doubt in his voice, Marilyn playfully punches Derek's arm.

"You can trust me." she said with a smile.

...I hope.

Derek smiles.

"You're the only person I trust."
